Rose Bonheur

The next stop on my historic eating tour of Paris: an afternoon beer at the Rosa Bonheur, a guinguette in the Parc des Buttes Chaumont, 19th arrondissement. Guignuettes were historical cheap open-air drinking & dancing venues, located near swimming spots or other natural areas, which dated to the mid-18th c. They declined in popularity in the mid-20th century, but are experiencing a revival today. The Rosa Bonheur, named for the lesbian artist, had an amiable and relaxed attitude in the afternoon. But apparently it has a rocking dance scene at night.
